Public Works City AdministrationOur friendly staff is here to help you with most of your basic community needs. We process water, sewer, and trash payments. We file city licenses and permits. These include building permits, zoning permits, and business and liquor licenses. You may download and print these forms from our site. Our offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are closed on all major holidays. City Hall sits one block south of the high school at 126 South Washington Avenue. The Strafford Public Works department is responsible for maintaining the city streets, city park, drinking water, and wastewater management system. The public works mission is to provide safe streets and protect the drinking water in the community. They also provide special request such as snow removal of your driveway under special circumstances.
John Dudley is the head of the Strafford Public Works department. His staff works hard around the community plowing streets in the winter, maintaining street signs, repairing water and sewer lines when needed. To report any broken water lines, street damage, or sewer problems, please call City Hall. They will transfer your call to the public works department.
Strafford fire department is a trained and dedicated team of emergency workers. They train in fighting fires and medical emergencies. Planning is underway for a new full-time fire department. The Strafford Fire Protection District is a separate entity from the city of Strafford.
Strafford's animal control aids in helping control the animal population in the community. They assist with violent animals in the community. They also play an important part in helping stray animals find a home through the work of the Southwest Missouri Human Society.
