If threatening weather approaches the Strafford area, the old high school gymnasium locker room will be used as a community storm shelter. There will be no smoking in the shelter.
The
Croxdale Community Park opened in 1997. The park offers a
place for picnics, meetings, a playground for the kids, and
plenty of trees to shade you on those hot days in July. It
is found on the north side of town behind the truck
stop on Airport Road. The park includes swings, baby swings,
slides, covered picnic tables, rest rooms, and a
grassy area. The city map shows the park. You may download and print the map.
City Hall also has paper copy of the map available.
The City of Strafford Park Committee meets at the City Hall on the first Tuesday of each month. Linda Maune is the chairperson of the committee.
Plans are underway for a future branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library. The library does offer Bookmobile service to Strafford. The Bookmobile comes to Strafford on Mondays between 2:00-6:00 p.m. A book drop-off is available outside the Strafford Police Department.
The Strafford Post Office, located at 125 South Washington, offers normal delivery to both city and rural routes. P.O. boxes are also available.
